Policy making and planning: Two strategies for enhancing the content and curriculum resources in the field of Islamic economics Nowadays, the number of books and content dealing with Islamic economics is inadequate. What has been developed so far is based on the personal incentives or motives and is without financial support for the higher educational system and research led centers. The detailed and coherent planning is required for enhancing the content and curriculum resources both quantitatively and qualitatively in the field. This planning should be exercised by the related institutes through their potentials and abilities. Islamic economics council, as a non-governmental institution, can handle these planning and policy making processes. In so doing, this can be utilized through the legitimate ways such as SAMT publications, University publication centers, Research on humanities, etc. These stake-holders are asked to afford the council financially. The planning and policy making should be initialized. The current study suggests and determines policy making and planning ways for enhancing both quantitatively and qualitatively content and curriculum resources for the field of Islamic economics. In this descriptive research, the processes of curriculum development of other fields have been analyzed. Also, lack of content in this field in comparison to other fields has been investigated. Through making plans from these processes, some suggestions for enhancing both quantitatively and qualitatively for this field have been proposed. This process with the contribution of authors and researchers in the field of Islamic economics began. This process is very dynamic and has no end, because, in fact, it covers a very broad field of Islamic economics and economic issues based on the new content and curriculum resources. The content and curriculum resources must be continually updated and be responsive to new problems that emerge. This field should be looked at as a scientific field. It is true that researchers, teachers and writers in this field have motivated the divine and spiritual motivation. Furthermore, there are human beings with physical and spiritual needs who have opportunity expenses. They know the advantages of economics and can choose between different options. |
