Introduction: Job burnout is the reduction of a person's ability to adapt to stressful factors, considering the negative impact and the necessity of this factor in the general health of teachers, the present study was conducted with the aim of investigating the relationship between general health, job burnout and the social competence of elementary teachers.
Methodology: This was a descriptive-analytical study on 85 teachers who were determined using Morgan's table as a sample. The sampling method was cluster method. To measure general health, a questionnaire (GHQ), job burnout (MSLACH) was used, and to measure social adequacy, the four-dimensional model of social adequacy (Felner) questionnaire was used. The information obtained after collecting the questionnaires was entered into SPSS version 24 software. And it was analyzed through the methods of descriptive statistics and inferential statistics.
Findings: The findings of this research showed that there is an inverse and significant correlation between job burnout and general health (r=-0.564 p=0.00) and also there is an inverse and significant correlation between general health and social adequacy (r=-0.331 p= 0.002) It was also found that there is a positive and significant correlation between job burnout and social adequacy (r=0.485 p=0.00).
Conclusion: Eliminating the factors that cause job burnout and increasing the general health of teachers can increase their social adequacy and reduce the damage caused by burnout, and since teachers have a very effective role in educating and training the future builders of society, this research was conducted.
