The purpose of this research was to investigate the relationship between perfectionism and academic burnout with behavioral problems in gifted students with the mediating role of emotional intelligence. The statistical population of the present study were all gifted students studying in the high schools of Bushehr city in the academic year 1400-1401. To collect data, Hill et al.'s Perfectionism Questionnaire (2004), Robreso, Salanova, and Scheffley's Academic Burnout Questionnaire (2007), Achenbach Behavioral Problems Questionnaire-Adolescent Version, Achenbach and Rescorla (2001), and Bradbury and Graves' Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire (2004) were used. Data were collected online and analyzed using the path analysis method and SPSS (version 25) and Amos (version 25) statistical software. Psychologists and counselors of gifted schools can emphasize psychological programs focusing on increasing emotional intelligence in order to reduce the problems of these students, including negative perfectionis, academic burnout and behavioral problems.
