School phobia is one of the main problems of elementary school students, and the present study was conducted with the understanding of this issue with the aim of investigating the mediating role of adaptability and family cohesion in the relationship between the quality of social relationships and school phobia of second-year elementary school students. This study was a descriptive-correlational research and structural equation modeling. The statistical population of this study included all second-year elementary school students in Javanroud city who were studying in the Javanroud city education complex in the academic year 2024-2025. Among these individuals, 210 people were selected using the available sampling method. The data required for the study were the Philips School Fear Questionnaire, the Quality of Social Relationships by Barkham et al, and the Adaptability and Family Cohesion Questionnaire. The resulting data were analyzed using SMART PLS software. The results showed that the conceptual model of school phobia based on the quality of social relationships mediated by adaptability and family cohesion has a good fit. The results also showed that the quality of social relationships and adaptability and family cohesion have a significant direct role in school phobia (P<0.01).Based on the aforementioned findings, it can be said that students' school phobia is influenced by interpersonal factors such as the quality of social relationships and family factors such as adaptability and family cohesion, and in order to solve the problems related to school phobia among the aforementioned students, all of these factors should be considered.
